Ryan Shaver started Concrete Dot Art out of his San Francisco apartment May of 2023. As a long time admirer of concrete architecture, he wanted to dive into concrete creation on a small scale. Tiles fit the bill perfectly. Small enough to be produced in the apartment, yet endlessly diverse in their possible appearance to let real art be born. Ryan continues to iterate his tile designs, constantly experimenting with the mix ratios and materials in his concrete. Creating concrete is an especially hands on endeavor, something Ryan finds calming, grounding, and a great reprieve from his day job behind a computer.
